Top 5 Events in Tally this Weekend (8/30 – 9/1)

Top 5 Events in Tally this Weekend (8/30 – 9/1)

Welcome back Noles & welcome Freshman!!!

We hope you’re having a great first week and getting ready for the 1st FSU football game! If you haven’t heard yet, the game has been moved from Jacksonville to Tallahassee due to Hurricane Dorian. Because of the Hurricane, the time has also changed from 7:00 pm to Noon according to the Tallahassee Democrat. Looks like things are really going our way now, so thanks Dorian! Please don’t go too hard on our cities in the Northeast though. We’d really appreciate that homie. Anyways, today we wanted to talk about the Top 5 events happening in Tally this weekend.  Read on if you’re planning to get rowdy or just have some good old fashion college fun. Click on the title of the event when you see one you’re interested in so you can find more info on it. If you’re not into any of the events below, we’ve posted a ton on our homepage (right HERE).

1. FSU vs. Boise State @ Doak Campbell Stadium

Since we’re so glad the game is back in Tally now, we had to put this at #1! Students get to watch the game in person for FREE now. Can’t beat that.

2. FSU vs. Boise Away Game Viewing (JUST CANCELLED)

Please ignore the paragraph below. We noticed they have cancelled this event due to the game being in Tallahassee now. Sorry for the inconvenience.

There will be a tailgate & game showing at the FSU Main Campus Fields located at 1001 St Augustine St, Tallahassee, FL 32306. Previously, the tailgate started at 6:00 pm and the game at 7:00 pm. But, since the game is at Noon now, we’re going to go ahead and say the tailgate will begin at 11:00 am. Just an educated guess nbd. We’ll post on our IG if we find out it’s a different time. The cool thing about this event is that they’re serving free food & will be setting up great tailgating games for you to play. If you don’t plan on going to the game & want to meet a bunch of FSU students, this one’s for you.

3. FSU Watch Party at Bulls

So Bulls was planning on opening at 6:30 pm for the game starting at 7:00 pm. They are looking to open at 11:30 am instead. There will be a small cover charge to get in (maybe $5-$10), but that doesn’t even come close to the value it will bring you with AYCD liquor all day/night and free pizza at half time. It’s really hard to beat watching a great game in this manner. Go Bulls.

4. Live on Landis: Let’s Chill

This Saturday from 7:00 pm – 11:00 pm, Club Downunder will be hosting a music show live on Landis Green. You will receive free food while watching the local talents Dorms, Sofia Camille, and Slow Low Crow. We hope you noticed there’s free food at each of the Top 3 events this week! That’s awesome. If you’d like to know more about the artists before committing to this event, below are links to more info about them.

5. Beat the Bell – GameDay Edition (JUST CANCELLED)

Ignore the paragraph below. Township just cancelled this event due to FSU playing in Tallahassee rather than Jacksonville. Sorry for the inconvenience. This is now the worst article ever 🙁

Township is hosting this event exclusively for the FSU football game. Initially, it was going to be from 3:00 pm – 6:00 pm. Since the game is moved to Noon, we don’t know what time they will be starting as of yet. They may just start at Noon and end at 3:00 pm instead. How it works is for the 1st hour, a 12 ounce Founders Solid Gold beer costs $1, 2nd hour costs $2, & 3rd hour costs $3. If you drink quickly, you will barely have to pay anything! The question is how fast can you chug? We’ll keep you updated on when this event (and above) starts by changing the times on this article if need be and by posting on our social media. Follow us @theskedge to stay updated.

There will be a big watch party at POTS for the game as well. We just didn’t want to put it in our Top 5 since we figured most of you already knew about it. But, now that some events are now cancelled, Pots is in the Top 5! Inititally, the event was supposed to start at 5:00 pm, but now we’re thinking it will start at 10:00 am since the game was moved 7 hours back. Have a great 1st weekend at FSU Freshman!
